Scribblings

I dropped a tear in the ocean today, when they find it, I'll stop loving YOU.

JUST ONE MORE TOFINO MOMENT

Just one more photo of our second trip last year to Tofino. This is Romys sister Marie, and husband Les, on the left, with Romys Mum, my daughter, granddaughters and son. Only Adam had to cancel at the last minute having just been accepted to his new job with Jazz.
We are at the Interpretative Centre on Long Beach, the Wikanninish Restaurant windows on the left, where we had just had a delicious lunch. It sits out on the rocks and has an incredible view of the length of Long Beach. We can watch whales from the windows while eating.

MORE VACATION PICTURES

This is the last view of the ocean we can get when we leave the westcoast of Vancouver Island, this is the Tofino end of Long Beach, we always shed tears as we bid farewell, and promise to come back soon.

This next picture is a historical moment as Marin dips her toes in the Pacific Ocean for the first time and.....she loved it! She just giggled, another beach baby, it certainly runs in the maternal side of her family.

I have no idea why this next picture came out smaller, I am sure Bean will be telling me with a sigh of "oh Mother" and try and get me to do it right again! I love this next picture, Calli loves to explore, her sunglasses are in her one hand as she tries to take a closer look at some relic on the beach.....no, no, no, not me...some other relic like a crab shell, or a colourful shell. Stick in the other hand, as you can see she took her pack-sack along this time, as she was complaining loudly how heavy her bucket was getting the day before with all her shells and seaweed etc in it.

Here is Bean and Marin both giggling, Marin loves the wind in her face and when her Mum runs with her in this carryall, she loves it.

The last picture is me and my original snuggle bunny, same hair, but that is one thing we don't worry about in Tofino, we are happy to be in the fresh air and ever present coastal winds and enjoying the beach. No, that is not a tatoo on Calli's arm, just a wet piece of sand.

Roll on May 2007, we all plan to be back in Tofino, Bean and family, me and number 1 son wandering the beach again, exploring the rocks, taking pictures of all those starfish, surfers and sunsets and eating heavenly onion soup at the Wikanninish Inn on Long Beach . Hopefully Calli can add to her shell collection....(actually she is only allowed to keep very few, as the rules are, one must leave things on the beach where they belong), I believe its about 74 sleeps!!

Tofino 2006

Well I am trying to learn how to put pictures on my blog, Jennilyn was so patient on the phone this morning, but I must have missed a step as this was supposed to be number 4 of 7 pictures from our March holiday in Tofino last year!!
Jenni, Calli, Marin and I discovered hundreds of these sail jellyfish on the beach one early, blustery morning. Apparently this doesn't happen too often and especially not these species. The colours were so vivid against the sand and ocean, it was quite the sight.
Back to the drawing board to find the other 6 pictures!
